Mr. Chesley B. Hilton, age 75, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at his home after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and was a 1964 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He was a farmer, tree farmer, and was employed with Weyerhaeuser in Lyons for seventeen years. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday School Director, and he sang in the choir. He served as a Director of Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert Hilton and Elizabeth O’Conner Hilton.
His family includes one sister, Mary Ann Warnock and husband David McLane of Vidalia; two brothers, James Robert Hilton and wife Elaine of Midville, and Richard Hilton and wife Deidra of Tarrytown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be Saturday, July 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
