Mr. David Ricky Winther, age 61 of Macon passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Piedmont Macon North in Macon, Georgia.
Born in Dublin, he was the middle child of three born to David Richard Winther and the late Wana Horton Kitchens. Ricky and his siblings grew up in Scott and Gray, Georgia where he graduated from Jones County High School, Class of 1978. Ricky was a self taught Master Machinist and Automotive Mechanic. He had worked with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company in Macon from the late 1990s until their closing in 2006. Growing up in the era of the muscle cars; he loved the sport of drag racing and owned his own drag car. When not building cars he enjoyed playing a round of golf.
Ricky was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Macon.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ronda Gay Winther Dudley.
Ricky leaves behind his fathers, David R. Winther, Midvale, Idaho, Richard R. Kitchens, Dry Branch, GA, his children, Candace McCart (Michael), Mansfield, GA, Chad Winther (Blake), Macon, GA, Casey Winther, Newborn, GA, Tabitha Taylor (Colby), Macon, GA, Sheyenne Winther-Jimenez (Jaime), Soperton, GA,
His brother, Ronald “Ronnie” David Winther, Dry Branch, GA, three grandchildren, Justin, Jackson and Hadley as well as a niece and two nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Pastor John Strickland officiating.
Ricky will be laid to rest in Midway Cemetery.
His family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, GA or following the service, on Sunday, at 19 Stoney Spur, Adrian, GA 31002
