Geneva Willis Ricks, age 83 of Soperton passed away on Monday morning, January 17, 2022 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.
Born in Treutlen County, she was the eldest of four children born to the late Elmo “Hop” Willis and Dorothy Ennis Willis.
Geneva was a lifelong resident of the Soperton area and had worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Soperton Manufacturing and the Shirt Factory in Dublin.
She enjoyed yard work and especially cutting grass.
Geneva was a member of the Orianna Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Holmes Thigpen and Billy Ricks as well as a brother, Elmo Willis Jr. and a sister, Anne Reece.
Geneva leaves behind her daughters, Kathy Tapley, Teresa Thigpen and Peggy Hooks (Robbie), two grandsons, John and Robert Hooks, all of the Orianna Community, a sister, Nell of Adrian and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from the graveside in Orianna Cemetery with Reverend Arthur Conley officiating.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday at the graveside.
