12 6 21 Ty

The Vidalia High School Basketball teams split a pair of games with Montgomery County on Saturday at Parsons-Reid Gymnasium, with the Indians winning 71-59 and the Lady Indians falling 64-52. Senior Ty Dalley (Above) exploded for 38 points in the boy’s game, including eight 3-pointers to lead the Indians (3-1) over the Eagles.

The game was a four-point game heading into the final quarter before the Indians outscored MOCO 17-9 to pull away. The Indians shot 46% from the field including 31% from behind the arc.

Despite scoring a season-high 52 points in the girl’s contest, the Lady Indians couldn’t keep pace with the Lady Eagles, who handed Vidalia (1-3) their 3rd straight loss.

Montgomery County jumped out to a 22-14 lead in the first quarter and never looked back and had help along the way as Vidalia turned the ball over 27 times, leading to 24 Lady Eagle points.

The Lady Indians were led by Kaliya Walker (15pts), Corianna Warner (12pts), and Hannah Nichols (11pts).

Both Vidalia teams open the 2021-22 Region schedule Tuesday night at home when they host East Laurens beginning with the girl’s game at 6:00 P.M. You can hear the action with John Koon on Classic Hits, 98Q and southeastgeorgiatoday.com.
