Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home announces the death of Rev.  Robert Darryl Brown age 55 of Vidalia, GA who transitioned from life peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Advent Medical Center in Orlando, Florida.  Robert was born on April 20, 1966 in Augusta, GA to the parentage of the late Robert and Leona McLeod. 

He was preceded in death by siblings James Earl Brown and Judy Diane Powell. 

Affectionally known to family and friends as “Dean” Robert was a good man who spread love everywhere he went. He held his family very near to him and his grandchildren was his pride and joy. His favorite hobbies were fishing and motorcycle riding. 

He was a graduate of the class of 1984. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. Later years he attended college in Atlanta, GA where he received his certification in Mechanic's. He joined the Boilermaker’s Union Local 26 where he worked as a Boilermaker for many years. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Vidalia, GA where he served as a Deacon and later answered his calling as a Reverend. He attended Carter’s Ministry and Chaplin’s Police Academy. He was one of the founders of Community Men in Action where he also served as Secretary. 

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 27 years Thelma Brown of Vidalia, GA. Four children Nikele “Sonya” (Antonio) Alston, Tyeshia Brown ( Kevin Brinson), Robert D. Brown all of Vidalia, GA and Shayla Thomas of Baxley, GA. 6 Grandchildren, Edriuntae “Papa Baby Boy” Hall, Ja’Kylon Paulk, Ja’Kaiden Brinson, Kimarli Brinson, Karlynn Brown and Brian Rooks Jr. One Brother Gary (Cindy) Brown of Vidalia, Ga. Six Sisters, Eliza (JV) Parker of Ellenwood, Ga. Darlene (Charlie) Brown of Soperton, Ga. Evelyn Cooper of Statesboro, Ga. Christine (Curtis) Jordan of Ailey, Ga. Vivian (Matthew) Hill and Robbie (Willie) Simmons all of Vidalia, GA. One Goddaughter Vanessa Reed and a host of Godson’s, nieces, nephews and friends.  

Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 1 PM until 6 PM at Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home. 

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 2 PM from Vidalia High School Gym in Vidalia, GA. Dr. Muriel Bell will deliver the Eulogy. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery in Ailey, GA.
