Mr. Kendall “K-Dawg” McBride, age 60 of the Bear Creek Community of Mt. Vernon passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, June 5, 2021..
A native and lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon, he was the youngest of two children and the only son born to Gene Edward and Carlene Sharpe McBride. Kendall was a graduate of Montgomery County High School, Class of 1978. He worked as an Over the Road Commercial Truck Driver for over twenty years based in Glenwood, Georgia; known on the CB airwaves as “Snakeman”. In the mid 1990s he founded M & M Electrical in Mt. Vernon which he continued to operate until retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy, taking care of animals and especially his two Chihuahuas.
Mr. McBride was proud of being a born again Christian.
Kendall leaves behind his two daughters, Dawn McBride Harp (Chuck), Cleveland, TN, Devin McBride, Old Fort, TN, his parents, Gene and Carlene McBride, Mt. Vernon, GA , his sister, Judy Waller, Vidalia, GA, grandchildren, Haley Lay (Stratos), Jayden Harp, Kalei McBride – Baine, Hanna Pennick, Aaron Pennick, Bryleah Pennick, a great grand daughter, Nova Lay, a niece, Brooke Waller and special friends, Jason and Stacie Randolph, Vidalia, GA .
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Patrick officiating.
Mr. McBride will be laid to rest in the McBride Lot in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
