Mr. Andrew “Andy” Huerta Sanchez, age 63, beloved husband of Robin Kim Anderson Sanchez, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 11, 2021 at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was one of six children born to the late Cipriano Aurelio and Manuela Huerta  Sanchez.  He grew up in Genoa and was a member of the 1975 graduating class of the Genoa Area High School.  While in high school, Andy was a star Baseball and Basketball athlete establishing many school records that stood unbroken until recently.  After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg AFB, Lompoc, CA until being discharged.  Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he remained in California for a short time before returning to Ohio where he married Millbury, Ohio native Robin Kim Anderson in 1987.  In the early 1990s they moved to Treutlen County to be near his wife’s father and to return to generational family property.   Andy worked with Farmers Furniture and First Franklin Finance before he and his brother founded Superior Street Loans in Soperton in the early 2000s, which was named after the street they grew up on in Genoa, OH.  He served as CoPartner and Finance Manager until semi retiring in late 2020.

Andy had attended and was an altar attendant at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Genoa.

He was an avid sports fan; enjoyed following the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as hunting and fishing.

Andy leaves behind his wife, Robin Anderson Sanchez, Adrian, GA, their three sons, Andres “Andrew” Sanchez (Shaina), Gainesville, GA, Aaron Sanchez, Adrian, GA, Anthony Sanchez, Adrian, GA, his siblings, Ernesto “Ernie” Sanchez, Genoa, OH, Cipriano Aurelio “J.R.” Sanchez, Westfield, MA, Arturo “Jake” Sanchez, Gainesville, GA, Alberto “Albert” Sanchez, Liberty Center, OH, Martha Sanchez Guthrie, Adrian, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, Georgia.

The prayer service for the deceased will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Claroni of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vidalia, Celebrant.

Following the service, a luncheon will be provided in the fellowship hall of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanchez will be laid to rest in the Anderson lot at Boiling Springs Cemetery.
