May 2—The 29th Annual Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby was held Saturday at Derby Hill at Partin Park in Lyons. A total of 46 cars competed in the Stock, Super Stock and the Masters Divisions for an opportunity to race in the Soap Box Derby World Championship this July in Akron, Ohio.
Noah Gordy is the 2021 winner of the Soap Box Derby in the Stock Division.
Alexis Head is the winner in the Super Stock Division.
Alyssa Head is the winner in the Masters Division.
The winners received a check for $1000 to help with the expenses to Akron, Ohio.
For the fifth year, a Super Kidz Race took place Saturday to give special needs children a chance to race down Derby Hill with an experienced driver in the car. The winner of the Super Kidz Race was Mason Wilt.
