The Vidalia Indians won Game 3 of their region series with East Laurens on Thursday evening April 8 in Vidalia by a score of 18-2 in three innings. With the win the Indians improve to an 18-4 season record including a 9-0 start in region play. Bryson Whited picked up his fourth win of the season in just 3 innings of work due to the run ruled shortened game. Whited struck out six batters and allowed only 4 hits.
Although the Indians only batted in two innings they went through the batting order three times picking up 15 hits. The offense was led by Ty Dalley who picked up his second grand slam of the week along with a single and scoring 2 runs; Hughes Graham with 2 hits, 3 runs and 2 rbi’s; Whited with 2 hits, 3 runs and 1 rbi; Landry Mead with 2 hits, 2 runs and 1 rbi; Walker Moncus with 2 hits, 2 runs and 1 rbi; Tucker Stephens with 1 hit, 1 run and 2 rbi’s; Michael Blount with 1 hit 2 runs and 1 rbi; Jordan Walden with 1 hit, 1 run and 1 rbi; Cason Banks with 1 hit and 1 run; Chandler Corbett with 1 hit.
The Indians will be playing an important 3 game region series against the Yellow Jackets of Jeff Davis County next week. The first game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 13 at Hazlehurst starting at 6:00PM. The second game is scheduled for Vidalia on Thursday, April 15 starting at 5:45PM.
