More details on the accident that claimed the life of former Montgomery County Chief Magistrate Mona Richardson Bell have been released.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, on Saturday night Bell and her 11-year-old grandson Bragg Alford, were traveling on Georgia Highway 19 near Glenwood when a vehicle driven by Randonovan Lewis of Alamo crossed the center line and struck Bell’s vehicle head-on. Bragg was taken to Meadows Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery for his injuries.
Lewis, age 23, was taken by helicopter to a Macon hospital where he is receiving treatment. Results of drug-alcohol tests on Lewis are still pending.
Mona Bell served as Montgomery County Magistrate Judge from January 1, 2003 until December 31, 2018, when she retired.
