In game one, the Lady Indians scored 1 run in the first, two in the second, three in the third, and two more in the fourth to finish off the Lady Warriors. Ashtyn Braddy and Madison Starr led the way offensively for Vidalia with 3 hits each.

In game two, the Lady Indians broke a scoreless tie in the top half of the 5th inning on a bases-loaded walk. They then scored 3 more runs on a long fly ball by Rileigh Robinson to center-field, which the center-fielder misplayed, emptying the bases to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Indians added to their lead when Treyunna Roundtree running for Torey Wright, scored on a passed ball. Wright, who finished the day with 3 hits, had reached on a 1 out double. Vidalia added 2 more on a Lydia Smith 2 out single to make it 7-0.

Jefferson County would get a run back in the bottom of the 6th, but Vidalia would score 3 more in the 7th on a Wright sacrifice fly to make it 8-1, and then Madison Starr, with 5 hits on the day, singled to center-field to make it 9-1. Tymber Harris would then single in Bailey Holland to make it 10-1.

After the game, Coach Brad Thompson credited the strong pitching performance by both of his pitchers. “Bailey and Starr both had outstanding games, and that doesn’t happen by accident because they put in the hard work after hours.”

Thompson also was pleased with the way his lead -off hitter Ashtyn Braddy came through. “Braddy sets the tone with senior leadership, and as she goes, that’s the way we go. Also, having Rileigh batting 9th really helps us to make sure that we have no gaps in the lineup.”

With the win, the Lady Indians advance to the Quarterfinals for the 6th time in the last 7 years and the 8th time in 10 years and will host Banks County, beginning with games 1 & 2 scheduled for Tuesday, with the if-necessary game set for Wednesday.(Courtesy of Vidalia High School) (Photos Courtesy of Carroll Williams)
