The Lady Indians finished with 87pts, 25 points better than 6A Lee County 28 points better than Jeff Davis.  Three Lady Indians placed in the event with Sarah Owen placing 4th with Kaitlyn Allen placing 11 and Isabella Holloway placing 15th. Kayleigh Folsom and Ashley Hammock rounded out the top 5 scorers for the Lady Indians, who will now turn their focus on the postseason in hopes of winning a region championship.

On the boys' side, the Indians finished 17 points out of 1st and 5 points behind Bleckley County, who placed 2nd. Michael Blount placed 5th, Luke Palmer, 14th, and Jace Gabbard 20th with all earning a medal. Andrew Hodges and Daniel rounded out the top 5 runners and scorers for the Indians.

"The guys were a little disappointed with the defeat since they have beaten Jeff Davis and Bleckley twice this year, but they are up for the challenge and ready to face off with them again on October 22 in Guyton," Said Head Coach Mandy Godbee. "We are in this for the long haul and are not focused on just winning a few invitationals. Our goal is to win the region and make the podium at state. In order to do this, sometimes, you have to take a small hit, refocus and set your sights on the big picture. Both boys and girls teams are in an excellent position as we edge closer to the postseason," Godbee added. (Courtesy of Vidalia High School)
