May 14-- Mrs. Ruth “Ruby” Blaxton Palmer, age 87, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at her home after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County, where she lived most of her life and lived in Claxton and Savannah for several years. She was a homemaker, a member of Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and she an avid reader and avid watcher of old western movies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Palmer; parents, Tosh and Donna Blaxton; and a brother, Billy Blaxton.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by three children, Patty Devereaux and husband Vaughn, Scott Palmer and wife Tammie, all of Vidalia, and Russell Palmer of Claxton; two sisters, Janice Palmer and husband Leland, and Benilda Craft and husband Sammy of Lyons; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 15th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Chris Palmer officiating.
