Three of the four dog suspected in the death of Dr. Nancy Shaw last Thursday have been captured and are at Lyons Animal Control as part of the evidence in the case. A fourth dog was shot and killed by a Lyons resident after attempted to break into the man's chicken pen. The dogs are bulldog-mixes.

Two of the dogs were wearing collars and their owner has been located. It is unknown at this time if the owner will be charged in a crime. That depends on the results of the investigation by the Crime Lab.

Lyons Chief of Police Wesley Walker said he suspects Dr. Shaw, who was a animal-lover, may have seen the dogs beside the road and stopped to feed them when a fight broke out between the dogs and she was caught in the middle.

The dogs will remain at the Lyons Shelter. Depending on the results of the crime lab reports, their fate will be decided by the District Attorney and the courts.
