After her father passed, she chose to perform locum tenens work that allowed her to travel. She fondly remembers her work in Arizona, Kentucky and Georgia as the best experiences of her life exploring this beautiful country and meeting many wonderful people.

Dr. Shaw resided in North Carolina from 1992 -2012. During this time she established the Hospitalist Programs for both Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, Concord, and Boice-Willis Clinic located in Rocky Mount. Nancy and her mother resided in Rocky Mount, North Carolina during these years. Her mother passed in 1999.

Nancy relocated to Vidalia, Georgia when she was recruited by Meadows Regional Medical Center, Inc. She was an integral part of our Hospitalist Team from 2012 to present. She enjoyed working the evening shift. She also enjoyed exercise, walking, reading and had played the piano since the age of seven. Dr. Shaw was known for her compassion for people and animals. She was an advocate for Vidalia’s animal rescue group, SOAPS, and dearly loved her ten pet cats. Dr. Shaw also loved her patients and nursing family at Meadows Regional Medical Center.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. At a date to be announced, Meadows will host a memorial service in her honor.   Donations may be made in her memory to SOAPS, P.O. Box 210, Vidalia, GA 30475.
