The man who has garnered a lot of social media attention lately was arrested in Appling County Wednesday, but it is unclear if those charges are directly related to the alleged negativity of his business practices or a pending lawsuit against him and his wife by a mortgage broker.

Richard Altman was arrested by the Appling County Sheriff’s Office on an out-of-state hold for illegal transmission of monetary funds in Livingston Parrish, LA.

Richard Altman and his wife Heather own several mobile home enterprises in the southeast and were recently sued by 21st Mortgage Corporation who said the couple had moved a mobile home from their business lot to their private property without paying the lender. 21st Mortgage Corporation says they either want the Altmans to pay for the home or return it to their inventory.

And that’s not where the couple’s trouble ends. Multiple purchasers of mobile homes from their businesses have come forward with complaints about various forms of no service after the sales and lack of ability to communicate with the company regarding their concerns. Some who’ve bought from the Yurezz Home Center say they aren’t even able to inhabit the homes they are making payments on.

Appling County Sheriff Mark Melton said his office has numerous open investigations involving the Altmans and their business activities ongoing and are working with departments within the state of Georgia along with multiple agencies located in other states. The Sheriff asks anyone with information concerning the ouple or Yurezz Home Center to please contact the Sheriff's Office at 912-367-8120.
