The Vidalia Police Department has asked the GBI to assist them with a 4th of July shooting death of an Atlanta man that occurred in Toombs County over the holiday weekend.
According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation press release, Rashad Lamar Lumpkin, age 36, was fatally shot in the 500 block of East Jenkins Street in Vidalia. Vidalia Police were dispatched to the scene around 3:13 Saturday morning where they discovered Lumpkin in the road with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to the local hospital by EMS where he was pronounced deceased.
