The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has added additional charges to the man accused in the death of 46-year-old Kimberly Sanders King and the injury to another woman and a child on Saturday, April 26.
Late Wednesday afternoon the GBI charged Jordan Austin Young with one count of Felony Murder, three counts of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Cruelty to Children.
King and a 20-year-old woman were walking on a river road near Reidsville around 8:18 when a truck driven by Young veered off the road and directly into their path. Seeing the approaching danger, King tossed the child out of harm’s way and King was struck and killed. The other woman was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday and the baby was treated at the hospital after the incident and released Saturday night.
Young is in the Tattnall County Jail and has been denied bond.
The incident is still under investigation and once completed, the case file will be given to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney's office for prosecution.
