Recently at Sally D. Meadows Elementary School, students in third through fifth grade competed in classroom spelling bees for a chance to advance to the schoolwide competition. On January 9th, Mrs. Jaya Robinson organized the school spelling bee, where 18 students went head-to-head to prove they were the top spellers at SDM.

After eight competitive rounds, Avery Montford, a fifth-grade student, claimed first place by correctly spelling the word "mustache." Congratulations to all participants for earning a spot in the school spelling bee, and special recognition to the top three finalists: Avery Montford (5th grade, first place), Jru Brown (3rd grade, second place), and Ja’Naylaa Simmons (5th grade, third place).
