Vidalia High School has achieved a historic milestone, posting a graduation rate of 96.8 percent for the most recent academic year—the highest in the school’s history. This achievement not only demonstrates the dedication of students and staff but also surpasses the Georgia state average graduation rate of 87.2 percent by a considerable margin.

Vidalia’s performance ranks it among the top schools in the state, placing it 26th out of 193 school districts in Georgia. Georgia reports that a total of 134 school districts recorded graduation rates at or above 90%, with 60 districts—including Vidalia—surpassing 95%.

Superintendent Dr. Sandy Reid expressed pride in the collective effort behind this accomplishment: "Our graduation rate is a tremendous achievement, and it speaks to the dedication of our entire team, from Pre-K through 12th grade. Every teacher, support staff member, and leader has a role in preparing our students for success. Just as important, this success belongs to our families and community, whose commitment and partnership shape our schools each day. Vidalia City Schools is a true reflection of the values, hard work, and pride of the community we serve."

The school credits its strong academic support systems, dedicated faculty, and close partnerships with families and the community for its ongoing success. With a graduation rate nearly ten points above the state average, Vidalia High School exemplifies educational excellence and community teamwork.

“At Vidalia High School, we take great pride in the academic achievements of our students, and once again, our SAT scores reflect that commitment,” said Vidalia High School Principal Elis Strobridge. “Being among the highest in the state is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of our community. We will continue to set high expectations and provide our students the tools to succeed at the next level. It's an exciting time to be a part of the VHS family.”

As the district celebrates this milestone achievement, Vidalia City Schools reaffirms its commitment to preparing every student for success and to continuing the values that make the community proud.
