Vidalia High School was in a soft lock down as the school day began on Wednesday until authorities and school personnel could assess the potential situation. Dr. Sandy Reid, Superintendent of Schools, has released the following statement to RadioJones:
"This morning a student brought forth a text message they received outside of school. Out of an abundance of caution, we contacted law enforcement who is actively on campus and monitoring the situation. At this time, there is no indication of danger to our students, they are in class and continuing to work. We will keep you abreast of any and all changes to the situation. Thank you for allowing us to put our safety protocols in place without disruption."
