A juvenile was taken into custody Tuesday by the Vidalia Police Department after being identified as one of the suspects in a burglary of a local pawn shop.
Around 2:30 Tuesday morning, police responded to burglary alert at Tom’s Pawn Central on East First Street in Vidalia. Officers and the on-call investigator processed the crime scene and video security footage showed three juveniles perpetrating the crime.
The Investigative Services Division of the Vidalia Police Department was able to determine the identity of one of those juveniles, and investigators were able to locate the teen at their residence and took them into custody. The adolescent was transported by the Vidalia Police Department to the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.
The other two juveniles have since been identified as well. Complaints have been filed against them and forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Police say several of the stolen items stolen from the pawn shop have been recovered.
