The Georgia Department of Corrections announced numerous changes in leadership within the last few weeks including to several facilities within the listening footprint of the RadioJones coverage area.
On June 4 Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Tyronne Oliver made announcements about the shifts in leadership positions. Among those announcements is that Sherryl Blair, Deputy Warden of Administration at Dodge State Prison in Eastman, would be promoted to Superintendent at McEver Probation Detention Center in Perry.
Tracy Page, who was the warden at Rogers State Prison in Reidsville, will transfer to Montgomery State Prison. Succeeding him at Rogers will be Sandi West, who was the Superintendent at the Women’s Probation Detention Center in Claxton.
Filling West’s position as Superintendent at the Women’s Probation Detention Center will be Alicia Epperson, who has been the Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Montgomery State Prison.
Roderick Clanton, the warden at Montgomery State Prison will transfer and become the warden at the Long Unit in Ludowici.
Also being reassigned will be Veronica Stewart, who is now the Special Assistant to the Warden at Telfair State Prison to the position of warden at Washington State Parison, and Kochelle Watson, Superintendent at Emanuel Probation Detention Center in Swainsboro will become the new Warden at Johnson State Prison.
There will also be other transfers and promotions to leadership positions at other state prisons, facilities, and within the department regionally and across the state outside our listening area.
All the warden and superintendent reassignments will become effective this Sunday, June 16.
