Vidalia High School Patient Care Fundamentals students recently completed clinical days at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital. Prior to this experience, students had to learn skills and information such as patient safety, infection control, proper application of PPE, patient transportation, vital signs, and much more. During their clinical time, students followed a Healthcare professional for the day and could apply these skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
One student stated, "Clinicals was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. It made me feel like I had completed college and was a full-time nurse. I am thankful for Meadows Hospital for trusting and allowing us to come over and have hands-on experience with real-life patients."
"This is our second year attending clinicals, and the students have once again found the experience invaluable," said instructor Shellie Cleghorn. "We are deeply appreciative of the ongoing partnership with Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, which has been instrumental in providing our students with this unique learning opportunity. The sponsorship has made a significant difference in their education, and we are excited to continue this fruitful collaboration. As the VHS Healthcare Science teacher, I am thrilled that my students are able to experience learning in a real-world setting, and I look forward to seeing their future successes."
