Toombs County Election Supervisor Carey Alligood reminds registered Georgia voters that early voting has begun for the May 21 General Primary, and from the numbers reported, Toombs County voters are taking advantage of the opportunity to vote in the first two days.
On Monday, which was the first day to cast a ballot, 94 people presented to vote in person while 75 other individuals were issued absentee ballots. Tuesday’s numbers were slightly less, but still impressive with 79 voters participating in early voting at the poll and 3 absentee ballots issued.
Early voting will continue through Friday, May 17, with two Saturdays, May 4 and May 11, designated for Saturday voting. Weekday voting is from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Saturday voting is from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. All early voting must be done at the Toombs County Elections Office on the 1st floor of the new Toombs County Court House in Lyons.
