5 1 24 BSB All Conference Story

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2024 SSAC Baseball Awards on Tuesday evening with Brewton-Parker Baseball earning some recognition.

Michael Son highlighted the awards for BPC by earning Second-Team All-Conference honors. Drew DeMasi was recognized as a member of the Champions of Character Team and was followed by a total of 15 student-athletes who were recognized for their efforts in the classroom.

In his first year as a Baron, Son led the team with a .373 batting average for fifth in the conference and finished the season with a 1.084 OPS. The outfielder recorded 153 at-bats to produce 57 hits for 42 RBI which includes seven homers, seven doubles, and a pair of triples. As for his efforts on the bags, he scored 45 runs and stole four bases.

In the classroom, 15 Barons made the grade to etch their name onto the SSAC Barnes & Noble College All-Academic Team by achieving a 3.25 GPA or higher. Logan Berggren, Dakota Connell, Matt Hager, Chris Harmon, Carter McWilliams, J. Reid Phillips, Joshua Valente, Zach Carlton, Drew DeMasi, Noah Gilbert, Jacob Mantooth, Caleb Strott, Kendell Wade, Chandler Koerner, and Tate Worrell all earned the recognition for their efforts off the field.(Courtesy of BPC)
