When Angela Lane moved to Vidalia several years ago, she hit the ground running, and the energetic and community-loving woman has never slowed down. She immediately wrapped herself in volunteering and It’s that “giving back attitude” for her new adopted hometown that earned her the recognition Tuesday night as the 2023 Vidalia Lady of the Year.

Rebekah Arnold, the 2022 Lady of the Year made the presentation.

“When Angela moved here, she embraced the community,” Arnold said. “She fills every qualification of a Lady of the Year.”

Arnold went on to say that Lane was born in South Korea and adopted by a family who was in the military service in Japan. The Anders family also adopted other children. Angela and her husband were working in Texas.

Lane said, “When we moved here 30 years ago, this community welcomed us and…. This is home! I believe that it is important to give back to where I can.”

And she made one more promise:

“I’m going to keep doing what I do; If you need me, just call me,” she vowed.
