MARIETTA, Ga. – Brewton-Parker College Men’s Wrestling faced No. 2-ranked Life (Ga.) on Wednesday night in Marietta, Ga.
The (RV) Barons (1-1, 1-1 AAC) continued conference action, dropping the match against the Running Eagles (4-0, 3-0 AAC) 45-9.
BPC started the dual off strong, as Patrick Jones gathered four team points for the Barons with a 13-1 major decision in the opening bout. At 133, Keyshaun Taylor was dropped in a 15-0 tech fall by Ethan Sellers to give the Running Eagles a 5-4 lead. Conner Wright followed Taylor at 141, falling in a 16-0 tech fall to Bret Minor.
For the 149-pound weight class, Gavin Daniels dropped his match to Cole Homet by a pin in 2:04. Robert Keyhea also took a loss by fall (0:35) to Alexander Couto.
With the Barons being down 22-4 halfway through the dual, Sean Houston found success against Peyton Brooks at 165. Houston won the match with a 17-2 tech fall to cut the Running Eagles’ lead to 22-10.
Jesus Grijalva fell in 1:13 to Tre Morrisette at 174, followed by Charlie Henkel taking a 17-2 tech fall to No. 10-ranked Myles Starke. At 184, Jomar Sanchez had to take an unfortunate medical forfeit in his match against Michael Gibson. For the 285-pound weight class, Tevin Person was downed in a 0:21 fall from Cohle Feliciano to end the dual 45-9 in favor of the Running Eagles.
