Vidalia police have made an arrest of a suspect believed to have been responsible for recent vehicle thefts and entering automobiles in the city.
Early last Tuesday morning, police arrested Joseph Robberson Williams, age 34, of Vidalia in connection with the crimes. Williams had active warrants and was taken into custody at his home without incident.
He is charged with four counts of entering an automobile, two counts of theft by taking a motor vehicle, one count of possession of methamphetamine, and on a felony probation violation warrant.
Williams was granted a property bond but as of Friday he has not paid the bond and remains in the custody of the Toombs County Detention Center.
