Mrs. Aileen Nobles, age 98, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her home after a brief illness. She was born July 7, 1925, to the late James Albert Poole and Etta Jane Christie Poole in Cornelius, North Carolina. She graduated high school in Cornelius and attended business school. She and her late husband moved to Vidalia in the late 1940s. They were the owners of Skyways, Inc. at Vidalia Municipal Airport and she worked as the company’s office manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia. She was an avid golfer and she enjoyed reading. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of seventy-eight years, B.E. “Kin” Nobles; daughter, Pat Nobles Chandler; three brothers, Jimmy Poole, Harold Poole and Chester Poole; and two sisters, Mildred Poole Mayhew and Sue Poole McEveen.
Her family includes two children, Jo Nobles Hamilton and husband Keith of the Kibbee Community, and Steve Nobles of Vidalia; one grandson, Dr. Stewart Hamilton and wife Joni; three great-grandchildren, Anna-Hudson Hamilton, Chandler Kate Hamilton and Asher Hamilton; one brother, Harvey Poole of Charlotte, North Carolina; a son-in-law, Kenneth Chandler of Liberty County; and numerous North Carolina nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be Friday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Jose Caraballo officiating.
