Vidalia has done it again! The beauty of the home of the World’s Sweetest Onions and the great hospitality of the people who call it home has caught the eye of travelers and writers and Vidalia has been included among the Top 12 Cutest Small Towns in the Southern United States

Alexa Britton is the Executive Director of the Vidalia Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“We were notified last week of being on the list,” Britton said. “That’s pretty special. And it’s great free advertising!”

Britton said what makes the recognition even more special is that the inclusion was based on what the writers witnessed because no one in the city knew anything about it.

“We didn’t know anything about it until then,” Britton said. “We didn’t apply for anything or submit anything so to be on that list is great for the city. From the way it reads, it looks like they came to the Onion Museum and into town without our knowledge so to be listed means that there was no influence put on them. They decided on their own that Vidalia fit the bill.”

This recent article isn’t the first time Vidalia has been included in an online publication, and that’s always great for The Sweet Onion City.

“Last year were included in another online publication that we also didn’t know about until we were named,” she said. “That’s great for our city.”
