Mrs. Mary Taylor Baird, age 86, of Lyons, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at her home after a brief/extended illness. She was a native of Kibbee Community and later living in Douglas and in Valdosta until 1957. She moved to Toombs County in 1976 where she was a homemaker and co-owner of TNT Lanes and managed the business for several years. Mary was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed crappie fishing at Lake Oconee and she especially enjoyed all things associated with Christmas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bailey Taylor and Myrtice Wilson Taylor; and siblings, Betty Cook, Curtis Taylor, Elizabeth Cooperville, Dianne Douberly and Juanette Heckles.
Her family includes her husband of sixty-nine years, Lyle D. Baird of Lyons; two daughters, Mary Debra Zorn and husband Tony, and Donna C. Baird, all of Lyons; one sister, Glenda Stroud of Kibbee Community; three grandchildren, Chad Zorn and wife Jessi of Lyons, Cody Zorn and wife Tristan of Rockwell, North Carolina, and Kathryn Molina and husband Gerardo of Vidalia; eight great-grandchildren, Esther, Abigail, Chad Allen, Leah, Charity, Cody, Jr., Cooper and Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Saturday, November 26th at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Cody Zorn officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until just prior to the service.
