Joyce Tyson

Joyce Hart Tyson, age 75, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of the Johnson Corner Community and a 1965 graduate of Toombs Central School.  She moved to Montgomery County in 1972 and was owner/operator of The Sandwich Shoppe in Vidalia for several years.  She enjoyed playing the piano and being outdoors, especially hunting, gardening and fishing where she was known as the lady who fished at night for crappie at Lake Oconee, oftentimes by herself.  She was an active member of Blockers Chapel Church, and early in her life, she was active in various church functions, including church camp and anything her children were involved in.  She was a “Mama” to many.  She is preceded in death by two husbands, Ronnie Fred Parker and Jimmy Tyson; parents, Joseph Eugene Hart and Dorothy Elizabeth Davis Hart; long-time friend and companion, Johnny White; and her beloved dachshund, Dottie.

Her family includes three children, Karen Tyson Outzs, Tracey Parker and wife Tonya, all of Vidalia, and Patti Daniels and husband Jody of Swainsboro; one sister, Jan Hart Beasley and husband Johnny of Cedar Crossing; one brother, Joey Hart and wife Martha of Ohoopee Community; four grandchildren, Lauren E. Bailey, and Blake Coleman and husband Boone, all of Vidalia, Tucker Outzs and wife Haley of Douglas and Brantley Daniels of Swainsboro; seven great-grandchildren, Tyson, Banks, Emma, Wiley, L.J., Waylon and Luca; and her dachshund, J.J.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, September 25th, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Albert White and Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, PO Box 2277, Vidalia, GA 30475 or Blockers Chapel Church, PO Box 1146, Vidalia, GA 30475.

The family will gather at the residence of Tracey and Tonya Parker, 194 Oren Sharpe Rd, Vidalia, GA 30474.
