On Tuesday, the Toombs County Lady Dog Softball team traveled to Brantley County and picked up a big region win.
The Lady Dogs fired up the offense in the first inning when Shay Stringer drove in a run with a single to left field. The Lady Dogs would add three more runs in the second inning when Autumn Jarriel and Emerson Powell drove in runs.
Stringer pitched a gem earning the victory in the circle for Toombs County. The lefthander only allowed two hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.
The Lady Dogs totaled ten hits in the game. Riley Lumley, Stringer, and Natalie Quintero each racked up multiple hits for Toombs.
Our approach today was great at the plate and we were able to small ball them and put pressure on their defense. Shay had another great day in the circle. We have to continue to put pressure on teams and make them make mistakes. All in all it was a great win for the Dawgs!
