Walter Perry

Dr. Walter S. Perry, age 62, of Vidalia, died Monday, June 27, 2022, at his home following an extended illness.  He was a native of Ware County, and was a 1978 honor graduate of Waycross High School.  He was a 1980 honor graduate of Waycross Junior College, earning an Associate degree in Biology, a 1982 graduate of the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, and a 1989 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine earning a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Perry moved to Vidalia in 1990 and worked as a veterinarian for Altamaha Animal Clinic for twenty-four years.  He also worked with Four Rivers Veterinary Center.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and Georgia Football.  Preceding him in death was a grandson, Cade Roberts; and his parents, Floyd Clinton Perry and Lois Hodges Perry.

His family includes his wife, Joann S, Perry; two sons, Stacey Roberts and wife Misty, and Dean Roberts and wife Samantha; five grandchildren, Carlie Roberts, Clay Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Tucker Roberts, and Peyton Johnson, all of Vidalia; one sister, Deborah Perry Sheuring; and two nieces, April Lee and husband Michael, and Autumn Sheuring, all of Blackshear.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

A memorial service will be Thursday, June 30th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Randy McDuffie officiating.

A sincere kind thanks to Dr. Stephen Tiley of Beaufort, and Memorial Oncology Specialists for eight years of dedication and care.  You were a blessing to both of us.  Also, a special thanks to Jason Colbert and the staff of Community Hospice for their immediate response and compassionate service.
