Mrs. Joyce Holmes Foskey, age 90, beloved wife of the late Marvin James Foskey, of the Rockledge Community, passed away on Thursday morning, June 16, 2022 at the Serenity Place in Dublin.

Born in Laurens County, she was one of ten children born to the late Emory S. and Ethel Whitfield Holmes.  She and her siblings grew up in Johnson and Laurens counties; moving often with her father’s work as a Sharecropper.  She attended the Condor School in the Condor Community.  In 1950 she married Marvin Foskey and they made their home in the Rockledge Community since the late 1950s.  Her husband passed away on June 15, 1992.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Johnnie Ree Stewart and siblings, Vernon Holmes, Floyd Holmes Sr., Ralph E. Holmes, Richard Holmes, Gene Holmes, Gladine Connell, Marjorie Garner and Mattie Curry.
