The Toombs County Development Authority recognized two outgoing members for this service at the January meeting of the body, and appointed Board members for 2022.

The 2022 Chairman, Dr. Garrett Wilcox, presented retiring member Harry Moses and John Robison with mementos for their service. Appointed to fill the positions of those retiring members were Brian Bishop to fill the city of Vidalia, and Trent Williams to fill the Lyons position. This will be Williams’’ second term on the Authority. Bishop was appointed as the Secretary of the Authority while Williams was appointed as Assistant Secretary.

In addition to Chairman Wilcox, Bishop and Williams, other Toombs County Development Authority Board Members including Chair Hopkins, Vice Chair; Tim Truxel, Treasurer; Andy Kimbell, Assistant Treasurer; and member Reid Threlkeld.

Michele Johnson serves as the Executive Director.

The Toombs County Development Authority is a government appointed body of professional business people dedicated to promoting economic and industrial growth and prosperity in Toombs County. The purpose of the authority is to develop, promote, and expand for the public good and general welfare, industry, agriculture, commerce, natural resources, and vocational training and the making of long range plans for coordination of such development, promotion, and expansion within the territorial limits of Toombs County. The Toombs County Development Authority is comprised of seven members appointed by the Board of Commissioners of Toombs County, and members are appointed for five-year terns.
