Mrs. Paula M. Watson, age 77, of Alston, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after a sudden illness. She was a native of Mexico, and as a child, moved to El Paso, Texas where she met her late husband. They lived in Troy, Alabama for many years before moving to Alston in 2011 to be close to their daughters and grandchildren. She was a homemaker, was raised Catholic and now Baptist by faith. She was a college football fan, especially Alabama, and she loved her dogs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Watson.
Her family includes two daughters, Sandra Wood and husband Bill, and Penny Seabolt and husband Chris; five grandchildren, Kelsey Stephens and husband Zach, Callie Lambert, C.J. Seabolt, Faith Dudley, and Staci Wood, all of Vidalia; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Maggie.
A graveside funeral service will be Saturday, January 22nd, at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Chad Zorn officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
