(8th grader Ashton Phillips wrestling against his opponent from Pinewood Christian Academy)
Robert Toombs Christian Academy's wrestling team competed at Crisp Academy on Friday, January 7th and again at Bulloch Academy on Saturday, January 8th. Eighth graders Easton Drew went 2-2 and Ashton Phillips went 2-1 at Crisp Academy.
"I was proud of the boys to say the least. Having them win a few matches showed me that they have what it takes to win, but they have a lot to work on," says Head Wrestling Coach Hunter Young. Saturday's duals at Bulloch Academy did not turn out as well. Eighth graders Easton, Ashton, and Isaac Holton all fell short in pulling out a win against their opponents. Here's what Coach Young had to say about Saturday's duals, "Seeing their performance showed me that as a coach I have to push the boys harder than they have ever been pushed. With only a few more duals left until the end of the season, there is no time for rest as they prepare for their next dual on Saturday, January 22nd at Valwood." (Courtesy of RTCA)
