Mrs. Cassie Doris Stone, age 94, of Lincolnton, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. She was born in Oak Park, Georgia, and lived there until she was sixteen years old. She left her hometown and moved to Augusta and Atlanta to work for Southern Bell where she worked for nine years and became a service representative. That is where she met the love of her life, Charles Stone, Sr. They were happily married for 68 years and had two children. She was a loving wife and caring Mama. She was very active in her church and loved studying God’s Word. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and a member of the neighborhood garden club. She was a doll collector and member of the doll club. She loved to sew and garden and cook for her family. She was always serving others in need. She dearly loved her pets and cared for many a stray animal that came along. She volunteered for over 15 years as a Pink Lady at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Her family includes her husband, Charles Stone, Sr.; one son, Dr. Charles Stone, Jr. and wife Sherryl, of London, Ontario, Canada; one daughter, Cynthia Hancock and husband Dane, of Lincolnton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Ben Hancock and wife Meggie, Lara Hancock Johnson and husband Scott, Heather Pederson and husband Dr. Wes, Joshua Stone and wife Deborah, and Tiffany Stone; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Natalee and Tanner Johnson and Judah, Rebecca and Hannah Stone.
The graveside service will be Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Shepherd H. Findley Family Cemetery near Oak Park with Elder William Durrence officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made in memory of Doris Stone to Olney Primitive Baptist Church, PO Box 552, Vidalia, GA 30475.
