Montgomery County Schools officially has a new Superintendent as of Tuesday morning. At the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education Monday night, the members approved by a 4-1 vote to hire Dr. Stan Rentz on a 49 percent contract to lead the day-to-day operations of the system.
Dr. Rentz enters the position with plans to hit the ground running.
I will spend the next few weeks getting to know the staff, students, parents and the community,” Dr. Rentz, said. “I’m a small-town boy myself and I’m looking forward to serving in the Montgomery County School System.”
The new Superintendent has a diverse history in administration and in the classroom. He will assume his new duties from Interim Superintendent Mark Davidson who has served in that position since mid-March.
“It’s been my pleasure to serve,” Davidson said, “We’ve got a great staff, great students and a great community. Always remember the sky is the limit, and Eagles soar in the sky so my final sign off is Go Eagles!”
