September 23—The Toombs County Lady Dogs Softball team was victorious over the Wheeler County Lady Bulldogs 4-2 at home Wednesday.
Casey Cantwell gets the win for Toombs County. The righthander allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight.
Alli Hartley took the loss for Wheeler County. Hartley allowed six hits and four runs over six innings, striking out two and no walks.
Toombs County tallied one home run on the day. Nora Grace Mercer went for the long ball in the fifth inning.
Alexis Hart, Alexa Ledford, Emma Salter, Ziahya Griffin, Cantwell, and Mercer all had one hit to lead the Lady Dogs in the win.Toombs County improves to 10-8 overall.
