Mr. David Eason Thomas Roemer, age 27, formerly of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Born in Calgary Alberta, Canada, he was the youngest of five children born to Tammy Webb Roemer and Robert Edward Roemer.  David and his siblings grew up in Powder Springs, GA and enjoyed trips to the family lake house on Lake Sinclair and participating in summer youth activities with their church.   During his middle school years, David played community league soccer and enjoyed skateboarding.   He was a graduate of McEachern High School, Class of 2012 where he was a percussionist and a member of the drum line.  David and his brother and sisters were active members at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs where David played drums for worship services and was a youth group worship leader.  After high school, David enlisted in the United States Navy and entered the Nuclear Training Program in Charleston, SC.  He served six years on active duty as a Nuclear Mechanic, stationed at Bangor Base, Washington, assigned to the USS Louisiana Nuclear Submarine Gold Crew.   In 2016 he met Silverdale, Washington native Emily Oleachea whom he planned to marry in 2020; until COVID impacted group gatherings.  In 2019 he received his honorable discharge from active duty and transitioned to civilian life and working with the Department of Energy at the Idaho National Laboratory as a Nuclear Research Technician.

David enjoyed fly fishing, hiking with Emily, visiting national parks and working on his Toyota Tacoma.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Webb, owner of the “John’s Grill and Restaurant“ in Soperton.

He leaves behind, his fiancé, Emily Oleachea, Silverdale, WA, his mother, Tammy Webb Roemer, Smyrna, GA, his father, Robert Edward Roemer, Northern Ireland, his siblings, Annaleise Davis (Jordan), Dallas, GA, Ian Roemer (Elisa), Syracuse, UT, Jenny Johnson (Boone), Athens, GA, Meghan Hagan (Michael), LaGrange, GA, his maternal grandmother, Loreta Gillis Webb, Soperton, GA, his paternal grandparents, Tom Roemer (Nancy), Decatur, AL, Joy Presnell (Gerald),Toccoa, GA  and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from the graveside in Hutcheson Cemetery with Pastor Alan Davis of the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, GA officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy Command Southeast Region.

His family will receive friends at the graveside or at a reception to follow the service at the Masonic Lodge in Soperton.
