Three men from Mount Vernon were recently arrested and charged with various drug, firearms and gang-related violations.
According to Montgomery County Sheriff Doug Maybin, last Friday, agents of the Oconee Drug Task Force along with officers of the Mount Vernon Police Department and deputies form his office executed a search warrant in Mount Vernon. Officers seized a large amount of cash, marijuana and firearms.
Arrested in connection with the search were Taven Johnson, Deron Jackson and Timothy Thomas. All were charged with participation in criminal gang activity, possession of drug-related objects, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of firearms during the commission of a crime. Thomas received an additional charge of sale of marijuana.
