Mr. Tildon Hugh Beasley, age 73, beloved husband of Debbie Reynolds Beasley of Adrian passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, September 9, 2021 under the care of Community Hospice in Vidalia.
He was one of seven children born to the late Calvin Tildon Beasley and Effie Redfern Beasley. He grew up in the Treutlen County and Adrian communities; attending the Adrian School and Middle Georgia College in later years. Mr. Beasley enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam while assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. Upon being honorably discharged in the early 1970s he returned home, to the area in Treutlen County where he grew up, and accepted a position as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Dublin. The Dublin area consisted of five routes and he ran each of the five as a fill in carrier until being assigned his own route. Mr. Beasley remained with the U.S. Postal Service until retiring with thirty-four years of service. He drove a school bus for the Treutlen County Public School System and became the “Favorite Driver” to many of his student riders.
Mr. Beasley had served as a County Commissioner in Treutlen County, on the Board of Tax Accessors, was a member of the American Legion in Treutlen County and was a member and Deacon at Adrian Baptist Church.
He was fond of his guineas and donkeys and could be found at the livestock auction in Swainsboro; if he could convince Debbie to come along.
Mr. Beasley was quick to express his love for his wife and his thanks to God for the blessings that were bestowed upon him. He will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Beasley (Deby) and Bobby Beasley (Patty) and a brother in law, J. E. McLendon.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Debbie Reynolds Beasley, Adrian, GA, four sisters, Jeanne McLendon, Brunswick, GA, Sarah Quick (Don), Soperton, GA, Linnie Claxton (Mike), Wrightsville, GA, Angie Hooks (Wayne), Soperton, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, September 13, 2021 from the graveside in Zaidee Advent Christian Church Cemetery with Reverend David Oliver officiating.
His family will receive friends on Monday at the graveside.
