McBean, GA – Patsy Thompson, 83, wife of Martin Thompson, entered into rest Thursday, July 22, 2021, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2021, at 3:00 PM from Miracle Baptist Church, 1308 Hephzibah-McBean Road, with Reverend John Bartlett and Lexie TenHuisen officiating.  She will lie in state from 2:00 PM until the hour of service.

Interment will follow in Berlin United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1518 Hephzibah-McBean Road.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Jenkins County, GA, on January 16, 1938, to the late Earl and Geneva Hall Jenkins. She had a strong passion for nursing and retired from the Richmond County Board of Education as a School Nurse after ten years. She worked previously for Piggly Wiggly for approximately 25 years.  She was a member of Berlin United Methodist but attended Miracle Baptist Church.  She was well known for her ferocious praying ability.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Bell, and his son, Rick Bell (Kathy).

In addition to her husband, Martin, she is survived by her children, Lexi TenHuisen (Andy), Ann Currington, Kim Currington Hutto (Keith), and Charles Currington; her grandchildren, Glori Coronati (Michael), Codi Eubanks (Travis), Caleb TenHuisen, Amanda Blewett (Travis), Adam Poole (Ana), Paul Smith (Robin), Charles Currington, Constance Sturatt, Emily Mills (Paul), Tiffany DeValk, and Tara Currington; her sister, Janice O’Quinn (Richard); her nieces and nephews, Bruce Bell (Denise), Melanie Henley (Lee), Marcia Schlegel (Joe), Ron Bell (Dawn), and Kelli O’Quinn; and 23 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Hutto, Michael Coronati, Andy TenHuisen, Hudson Coronati, Travis Eubanks, Adam Poole, and Travis Blewett.

If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org), 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
