Voter turnout for the runoff for House District 156 was even more than the election than in June and just after 9:00 p.m., the numbers show that Leesa Hagan of Toombs County won 3,129 votes to Wall Sapp's 2,925, defeating her opponent by 204 votes.
"I'm ready to go to work," Hagan said after her victory. "With more people voting in this election than they did last month, it just goes to show how hard my team has worked. I'm excited and I'm ready to represent the people of the 156th District!"
The election will still have to certified by the Secretary of State before it is official, but Hagan said she expects that later this week and then she will be informed as to when she will be given her Oath of Office.
