Members of a local church along with a benevolent organization will be reaching out to the community this Saturday to help those in need. Dr. Bernard Hill of Project Care, Inc., and Harvest Time Faith Church says the event will include providing boxes of food as well as cooked food ready for consumption to those in need and there will be people there to pray with attendees if they desire.
“We know COVID took a toll on people, and we’re just doing what we can to help,” he said.
While putting food in people’s stomach is and important part of Saturday’s 9event, there is another simultaneous outreach that District Attorney Tripp Fitzner will be offering help with as people come to get their food.
“D.A. Fitzner will have a team there to help those charged with a crime to see if there’s anything that can be done to get a charge expunged from their record,” Dr. Hill continued. “Many people don’t know there may be an option, and if they can get a charge taken off their record, that will help them find jobs and open other avenues.”
Sharing is Caring will be hold at 306 Thompson Street in Vidalia, but Dr. Hill says it’s not just for residents of Vidalia.
“It’s for anyone in need,” Dr. Hill said. “We just want people to know they are cared for.”
