1 27 21 VHS Boys

January 27—The Vidalia Indians split with rivals the Toombs County Bulldogs Tuesday night in Lyons. The Indians defeated the Bulldogs 69-36 to improve to 10-5 and 4-3 in region play. The Lady Indians fell to the Lady Bulldogs 66-47 to go to 7-8 overall and 3-4 in the region.

The Indians started out slow but took control of the game and had a 15-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and 33-9 at halftime. VHS had three players in double figures in scoring Ira Clements 19 points, Ty Dalley 12 points and Matt Hill added 11 points.

D.J. McKinney scored 12 points for Toombs County. The Bulldogs fall to 4-14 and 2-8 in the region.

The Lady Indians fell behind early and never had the lead in the game. The Lady Bulldogs led 19-10 at the end of the first period and 51-30 by the end of the third quarter. Treyunna Roundtree scored 11 points and Dakota Jinks had 10 points for Vidalia.

Kay Kay Mobley scored 29 points and Aniyah McKinnon had 20 points for the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs are 9-9 overall and 6-4 in Region 2AA.
