Mr. Harold Cox, age 70, husband of Peggy Palmer Cox, passed away on Monday morning, November 30, 2020 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.
Born in Vidalia, he was one of two children and the only son born to Marcus A. Cox Jr., and the late Louvenia Johnson.
Mr. Cox had worked in the Retail Furniture business for 42 years before retiring in 2012. He started his career with Farmer’s Furniture and Home Way Rental. In 1981 he opened, owned and operated Cox Home Furnishing; which he continued to operate until December of 2012.
Mr. Cox has been a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church for 37 years where he served as a Deacon.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Louvenia Johnson Cox, who passed away in 2018.
Mr. Cox leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Peggy Crosby Cox, Soperton, GA, his father, Marcus “Jr.” Cox, Soperton, GA, children, Jason Harold Cox (Amanda), Soperton, GA, Regina Karen Nobles (Eddie), Soperton, GA, Ashley Todd Crosby (Kristie), Milledgeville, GA, Kimberly Dawn Swearingen, Grey, GA, his sister, Connie LeGail Meeler, (Herman “Bouncer”), Soperton, GA, grandhildren, Gracie Cox, Amber Richardson, Hayli Castro, Sydnee Nobles, Bradley Logan Crosby, Ashlie Kate Crosby, Tatum Swearingen, four great grandchildren, Jordin Leal, Liam Castro, Jake Castro, Eliza Richardson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from the graveside in Red Bluff Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Dupree officiating.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 10:00 am until the hour of the service in the sanctuary of Red Bluff Baptist Church.
